Cirencester Ramblers

Eight members set out from Sapperton church on a gloriously sunny Spring day.

The route passed through woodland, fields, the village of Oakridge and along the Thames and Severn Way beside the River Frome.

We were treated to carpets of wild garlic, lovely spring flowers - daffodils, primrose, celandines, marsh marigolds, as well as cherry and blackthorn blossom and even the first bluebells just poking their heads up.

The ponies at Daneway Bank Nature Reserve seemed very excitable, galloping across the grass and completely ignoring the couple trying to call them in.

The Daneway Inn provided a welcome stop for liquid refreshment before the final leg back to Sapperton.
