Eight walkers including one visitor did a 4.6 mile walk from Spine Rd East, by Cotswold Outdoor & Gateway Café. The route started northbound on the path by the Thames and Severn Canal.

About a mile before Siddington, we went left, passing the Alpaca Farm. This section of footpath was sticky mud, which slowed us up. After that, the conditions improved.

We entered South Cerney, on the picturesque route in, alongside The River  Churn and passing the Village Hall.

After crossing the main road, we went along Church Lane, passing All Hallows Church, and then on a footpath through the Allotments and past the Bowling Green. At the end, we went left along the far end of Bow Wow, before going down steps to walk along the old railway track (M&SWJR). With the help of the leader’s book about the line, we identified where South Cerney Railway Station once was.

The return route was along Wildmoorway Lane and the footpath through South Cerney Outdoor at Lake 12, to return to the Spine Road.

The weather was better than forecast, with only a very short shower.
