On a pleasant dry morning, 12 members set off from The Memorial Hall on an enjoyable four and a half mile country walk. When looking at the route on an OS map, there are no contours on the route, so it is a very level walk, it was commented that the only incline was on the first of the two big wooden footbridges.  Also. A walk with no stiles

The route out started down St Lawrence Road, crossing A417 and the left on the footpath, with a stream to the right. Then at the end, cross A417 again and follow signpost for the Thames Path Alternative Route, which is along a quiet road for 150 metres and then right onto a footpath. On reaching the Thames Path, we crossed the Thames on the long wooden footbridge and went right to St Johns Lock, for the refreshment break

The route continued by leaving on the access road, and then right, through a gate and along a bridleway for about 1400 metres to leave through a gate and right along a minor road, crossing a steam on a new bridge.

At the end going right to walk on the A361 for 250 yards and then left on meadow footpaths to cross the river on the long wooden footbridge by the Roundhouse. Further paths took us back to the main road at Lechlade by Allcourt
