On 16th April a group of 12 Cirencester ramblers and 4  visitors set off from Cold Aston village and walked to the pretty village of Notgrove.

From here we followed first the Diamond Way and then the Gloucestershire Way to the Church of All Saints at Salperton, where we viewed the wall painting of a skeleton depicting Old Father Time.

 Then we crossed several fields  to the small village of Hazelton and stopped for lunch at the churchyard.  After lunch we followed a good track along a lovely valley to Turkdean and then along the McMillan Way back to Cold Aston.

 We were lucky to see drifts of cowslips and violets under the blackthorn blossom, and the real delight was the sight of several sets of coal black twin lambs.
