Sunday 9th April Roman Villa & Coopers Hill

For our walk on Easter Sunday we had perfect weather, it being dry and not too cold or hot.

There were nine of us on our six mile walk starting from Great Witcombe Roman Villa and after proceeding up Coopers Hill we had a short rest to catch our breath, admire the views and a look at the cheese rolling hill (are they mad?).

We then did a circular walk through Coopers Hill Nature Reserve and Buckholt Wood, where there was the beginning of Spring starting to appear with Wild Garlic a plenty and also Anemones and Bluebells making an appearance.

We had a lunch stop at the halfway point and on our return to the top of Coopers Hill, we had a group photo and another opportunity to admire the views, before proceeding down hill and back to the start and a brief look at the Roman Villa remains.
