Fifteen members and two guests did a 3½ mile walk from Coln St Aldwyns. The walk was a mixture of walking on pavement, quiet road and footpaths.  The pretty countryside views were “adjusted” with temporary lakes in several fields, where the river had overflowed following a very wet March.  Fortunately, there was only one place on the walk where the footpath was waterlogged.

The walk started with a good view of the Williamstrip Country House in the distance, and then westwards to Quenington where a drinks break was taken in the grounds of St Swithins Church. The return route was on quiet roads through Quenington and then the track to the mill at Coln St Aldwyns

The route passed several buildings of historic interest and included paths on the Ernest Cook Trust Estate. The leader explained the history and work of the Trust. After the walk several went to the café at the village shop in Coln St Aldwyns for refreshments
