Five walkers left from the duck pond in Aldbourne for a ten mile plus, circular walk.

After walking past the village green and church, we walked along the length of Sugar Hill looking out over the large fields of rape and past the several Bronze Age Barrows in the area.

After crossing the B4192 we continued up hill, passing Liddington Castle,  to our lunch stop that normally provides expansive views  to the south west, but was marred today by mist and light rain.

We then turned east walking past the abandoned village of Snap, then up to Upper Upham passing the Elizabethan manor house that is on the site of a hunting lodge once owned by John of Gaunt.

Finally we carried on down hill back to the village of Aldbourne.
