Eighteen were on the walk on 25th September, 13 Cirencester members and 5 from other groups.
From Burford they walked over to Fulbrook, then over various fields to the woods before the farm for a short break.
The route continued along the lanes, over a field down into Asthall to have lunch in the churchyard next to Asthall Manor, a gabled Jacobean Cotswold manor house built in 1620, childhood home of the Mitford sisters.
After lunch they continued through the fields to St Mary’s church in Swinbrook. Here they found various graves where the Mitford family are buried.
They continued to the tiny St Oswald’s church in the Windrush valley to admire the wall paintings, then travelled along by the River Windrush back to Burford.
