(Before the walk several people had contacted the leader to say due to the hot weather they would not be coming, so in the end only five members set off from Barrow Wake on a very warm and sunny evening.)
On the evening of 10th August, following a brief explanation of the planned new road they set off to look at the five footpath crossings that will be impacted by the new road.
An artist's impression of the bridge over seven lanes of traffic helped to indicate what the quiet field would look like at the Gloucestershire Way crossing once the road is constructed.
They walked along the footpaths that will be rerouted and loitered on a path that will completely disappear.
With the discussion of the whole scheme and numerous maps and diagrams to look at, the short walk took longer than expected. Then there was a sunset and moon rise which again delayed the walk whilst photos were taken.
They finally made it back to Barrow Wake to join lots of people to see the last of the sunset.
