Seventeen members met at the Church of St Andrews in Coln Rogers, setting off in sunshine to turn left and walk down a lane through the village. They went over the bridge of the River Coln, staying on this lane all the way to Winson.

Taking a left turn at the junction they went down and keeping left passed some nice old houses around the village green. Then they went left through a gate by an old stone footpath sign onto small path over the river. Keeping on this path they came to a stile, went up the hillside and came out on top of Ablington Downs valley.

They stayed on the top ridge until they had to drop down to a gate where a lot of cows with calves just stared at them. They went through the gate and along the valley bottom till they came to a field of more cows. Going past the cows they continued gradually going up hill. When near the top they went up by a wall and tree line to sit and have a coffee/lunch stop, where after a short while about 8 horses joined them, hoping for some food. They had a group photo taken with some of the horses.

Carrying on to the top out of the field, they walked along by a wall to a road, turning left down a lane all the way to Saltway farm.

Here they turned left up a track till they came to a barn, and turning right here they came out at the top of Calcot. They then went down a steep lane which is a dead end, to turn left across a field to a stile, which took them along the side of River Coln back to the car park and the cars.
