On Sunday 16th June 7 stalwart ramblers braved the weather to walk from Stonehouse, however the weather was kind after all, we had some warm sunshine and only caught the edge of a few showers. We followed the footpath through the fields up Doverow Hill and into Doverow Wood.

On emerging to fine views over Stroud and its surrounding hills, we continued slightly down then up through fields to Westrip where we paused for a coffee stop (short rain shower). We continued through butterfly meadows to Randwick church.

We then made the final steep climb up to Standish Woods where we stopped for lunch (another rain shower). After a short walk through the woods we started our descent through fields with views to the River Severn, a track then a lane, down Maiden Hill and through more fields back to Stonehouse.
