On Monday 22nd April 25 members and 1 visitor walked through Wyck Rissington past the Church to the far end of this attractive village with its wide grass verges, lovely houses and very pretty gardens.
Turning right onto the Diamond Way they paused to take a photo by a large stone egg (very apt as it was Easter!). The route then passed by large wood full of Bluebells. Carrying on on the Diamond Way they crossed over the A424 through fields of rape seed in full bloom, making it a very narrow path down the hillside to the lovely village of Icomb. They stopped there for a coffee break before continuing on, passing the Church and fairly new "Mansion" of a house. Still on the Diamond Way they carried on to the village of Church Westcote and the church, with beautiful stained glass windows and flower arrangements.
From the Church they made their way to the garden of Michael MacIntyre where they had a lunch stop (permission was given), with wonderful views over towards the Parish of Broadwell.
Continuing on through woods and fields, eventually meeting the Oxfordshire Way, and crossing the A424 again, they followed a track to the Wyck Beacon Tumulus and the Upper Rissington road. Still on the Oxfordshire Way they turned right, then left down the hill back to Wyck Rissington.
