14 walkers set off from Chalford church along the tow path of the Thames and Severn Canal and the river Frome. Then a long steady climb up Claypits Lane. Fortunately, the weather was fine and not too hot. The route took us across a field and into woodland for a tricky and rugged decent, then up again to Bussage, before a final decent back to Chalford and well deserved and delicious refreshments at the Lavender Bakehouse.

A brief rest stop at one of the locks before the long upward climb.
