Sunday 30th July Nailsworth

On Sunday 30th July 13 Ramblers set off from Nailsworth to walk a 6 mile route. It started as a bright morning as we set off up Butchers Hill Road onto the A46. After a little detour right we came back onto A46, crossed the road to take the public footpath through woods, eventually coming to Ruskin Mill with its old Waterwheel (not in use these days). Carrying on through woods past the large lake fed by a stream, we came to some steps which took us up onto a lane near Washpool . We then turned right to carry on through more woods before we went left up some steps, stopping to sit on logs for coffee break.

Then the drizzle started, which remained for the rest of day. Carrying on to the top of the steps we came out at the Ruskin Mill Field Centre, which is a craft place (wood carving etc) that has farm animals for Young Special Needs adults to care for.

We walked up to Tiltups Inn and over the A46 again to fields, before coming down to walk along Ledgemore Bottom. Then we turned left up through Ledgemore Woods out to the top and Shipton's Grave Lane. We then turned right down the lane to take another left to go back into Nailsworth.

Despite the rain everyone said how much they enjoyed the walk.
