On Wednesday 7th June 12 members set forth on a pleasant but cloudy morning, with the promise of sunshine, from the picturesque village of Great Rissington.

Passing the 12th Century John the Baptist Church bearing right into a private road to reach the entrance to the Windrush Agricultural Estate.
Passing through a gate and following a line of firs until reaching the corner of a field taking a left turn with a white public footpath sign crossing a grassy field to the far hedge passing through the gap and crossing a field. planted with broad beans heading down towards a bridle-grate with amazing views, through the bridle-grate we follow the footpath diagonally across  a field into Chessels Woods, bordering the river Windrush the other side of this beautiful soft flowing river are the Sherborne estate wetlands and water meadows.

On leaving the wood passing though a grate and crossing a footbridge entering a field. We cross the field and go through a gap at the end  of Blackington Copse following the edge the field until reaching a way mark post turning left following the track uphill with Mill Copes on our right.

Continuing on the bridle way first taking a left then right heading for a clump of trees here we stop for a refreshment break, turning half-left across a field towards the hedge.

At the hedge passing through a bridle-gate crossing a field to join a track making our way back to the village.
