On Thursday 29th September, 18 members and friends started off on a five mile walk along the coast path from Paignton to Brixham in pleasant, cloudy weather with sunny intervals.  Soon after leaving the centre of Paignton, walking through Spitfire Park, they were pleased to find a plaque dedicated to one of the group's relatives, who flew Spitfires throughout  World War II and moved to Paignton after the war. 

They continued along the path dropping down to Goodrington Sands along the sea front, before climbing up to walk by the railway, watching the steam trains passing, and a coastguard helicopter overhead.  Passing under the rail viaduct where they dropped back down to Broad Sand, for a welcome break before continuing past the beach huts and onto the path across the rolling headland, with lovely views across Torbay.

The path then dropped down to the pebbly beach at Elberry Cove and along wooded paths,dropping down yet again at Churston Cove before reaching the outskirts of Brixham.  They walked into Brixham harbour to enjoy watching the boats, with many of them heading to the ice creams shops for welcome refreshments.  A lovely walk, with plenty of steps, but beautiful views.
