On Wednesday 31st August 16 ramblers had an evening walk around some of the historic sites of Cirencester.
Starting at the Roman wall in the Abbey Grounds they wandered past the Ice House to the Norman Arch. They then continued onto Spitalgate Lane to view the hospital and then along Gloucester Street, where some of the stones from the Abbey had been used in some of the houses.
Then the route went along to Gloucester Bridge and down the side of the dried up stream to Barton Lane and past the outdoor pool to Park Street, Park Lane and the Roman Amphitheatre, via Tetbury Road.
After a short break for a drink whilst absorbing the atmosphere of the Amphitheatre, they returned to their starting point along Cotswold Avenue, Somerford Road, Trinity Road, Watermoor Road and Victoria Road.
