On 24th July, a warm, breezy day 12 members set off from the centre of Painswick, walking up Gloucester Street towards Painswick House, then entering fields in front of the Roccoco Gardens.

 Following the undulating landscape towards Holcombe and admiring the valley views, they joined a lane, passing Holcombe Farm and paused for a coffee stop in front of Holcombe House.

  They then continued across fields and woodland to reach a panorama of land between Gloucester and Cheltenham. They followed the Wysis Way up onto Painswick Beacon where they spent time admiring the 360 degree views and enjoyed their lunch on the slightly windy crest of the hill.

 Afterwards, they continued down over the golf course and besides the quarry on the Cotswold Way to return to Painswick, walking through the back streets and St Mary’s churchyard with it's famous 99 yew trees.
