On Sunday 17th July, a lovely, sunny day with nice breeze, 8 members set off from the top of Bibury village to join a track just before the Catherine Wheel pub. The track led them to the Cricket Ground and down through a gate to the bottom, where they turned right up to another junction. Turning left here they walked along the top which brought them down to a large, open field with the River Coln on their left and a wood ahead.

 The group walked up through the wood to the top and turned right along a track. Two of the group took the left turn to do the shorter route. We carried on along the track to the road and turned left and almost immediately left through a gate that took them into a large field where they first saw the Air Display from RIAT (Royal International Air Tattoo) at Fairford. (Watched Red Arrows doing their display, then later the Italian’s group flew over. Great to watch with the Red Arrows making the big red heart). They walked on through two fields to the top of Coln St Aldwyns, where they sat under trees for lunch.

 All were happy to do the extra loop, so they came down off the hill and over the bridge, taking a left and then right turn over the River Coln, to take a narrow path past the church coming out out by the village shop.

 They then carried on down to the village passing the New Inn, to the river at the bottom. Carrying on along the road, then crossed over at the bridge, and went right to follow the river nearly all the way to Bibury, retracing their steps part of the way, but then continued down past the back of Bibury Manor, (was once a hotel, now owned privately).

 When in Bibury by Arlington Row they walked to the shop near the Trout Farm to get an Ice Cream which was very welcome. They then walked back up the hill to the cars.

 Every one thanked me for a lovely walk on such a gorgeous day.
