Twelve Ramblers met in the car park at the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust’s Lower Moor Farm Reserve for what should have been a delightful stroll through meadows and woodland, and around the lakes.

Unfortunately, the weather had other ideas and it was soon raining heavily. However, Ramblers are not easily deterred.  They walked through the meadows at Clattinger Farm, which form a Site of Special Scientific Interest because of the superb wild flowers.

Despite the bad weather, we saw Common Spotted Orchids, Green Winged Orchids, Lady’s Smock, Ragged Robin, the seed heads of Cowslips and many other wild flowers, before making an early return along paths that had suddenly become very muddy.
