On Sunday 13th March, 16 members did a 5½ walk, starting from the centre of Northleach, walking along West End, crossing the A429 and then on the uphill footpath to the hamlet of Hampnett, with extensive countryside views to our left.

After continuing to the end of the village, we went on a short downhill path to The Macmillan Way and walked through a U shaped valley. On reaching the road junction, we had our refreshment break near to the Hanging Stone, and resumed by walking a short distance on the road, The Salt Way, before returning to footpaths, in front of Oxpens.

The route returned to The Salt Way for 250 metres, before crossing the A429 again, and taking the bridleway opposite, passing Winterwell Barn, before taking a quiet downhill road to return to Northleach through Mill End

The weather was pleasant throughout and we missed all the forecast showers.
