On Wednesday 23rd February, 16 members enjoyed a 4½ mile walk from the Victoria Inn at Eastleach. After a short walk through this attractive Cotswold village we passed both churches before taking the lane alongside the River Leach.

The walk then followed the river along its valley avoiding fallen trees across the path until we reached Akeman Street, an ancient Roman Road, 73 miles from Cirencester to St Albans

We followed Akeman Street to a lane and descended to Sheep Bridge where we crossed to the otherside of the river. The walk then followed the swollen river for most of the return journey back to the inn where we enjoyed a drink and hot lunch.
