19 members had an enjoyable 5½ miles walk on a dry day with wonderful countryside views at the start point, Barrow Wake Viewpoint, and thereafter on the walk.
The route started on the quiet road which goes under the A417 and then northwards past the Radio Mast. Then the walk headed eastwards on a footpath past CuckooPen Farm, and then on a quiet road to Cowley, passing alpacas in a field before the village
We had a refreshment break at a quiet spot before reaching Cowley
After a walk through the village, the return route was a steady uphill, mostly on footpaths, finishing on the level path from near Stockwell back to the road under the A417
One of our group noted that there were Lime Trees in several places on the walk
