Cirencester Ramblers

On a lovely cold, crisp, sunny morning, 17 ramblers set out for a 4½ mile walk around Tetbury.

Starting from the Goods Shed car park we headed through back roads to Blind Lane where we immediately felt as if we were out in the countryside.

Taking fields and tracks we circled round to Tetbury Upton before following quiet country roads past the Hermit’s Cave where, after the rain at Christmas, the trees were sitting in a lake of water. Walking up a short slope from there, we stopped for a quick break.

As we continued along the road we enjoyed lovely views across the town and the two churches before heading across a field to Chavenage Lane and back to the town centre, where we went down the pretty Chipping Steps back to the start.
