Sunday November 7th Chedworth

On Sunday 7th November 28 people set off on a walk from Chedworth Old Airfield on a lovely bright, sunny winter’s day. First we crossed two fields to turn left down a wide track until we could take a right round the second large clump of trees, which led to another mainly grass track. We walked on that track all the way through some gates with fine views to the right of Lower Chedworth (about 2 miles in length), til we came to the top of Pancake Hill, where we stopped for our lunch and coffee break, sitting by the side of the lane .

Then the walk went down Pancake Hill, winding its way down by some lovely old cottages. At the bottom we took the right hand bend which took us all through Lower Chedworth, passing some very nice properties and looking back across the valley. It is a very undulating, lovely old village, and finally ended at the pub, "The Seven Tuns."

After the Pub we carried on down the lane, to take a right up a No Through Road, passing a field with Alpacas. We walked to the top and took a left through a gate and up through a lovely small wood to a road. At the road we took a left, then a right turn,and through another gate to come out on the top track, where we had started from and were able to retrace our steps back to the cars.

Everyone thanked me for a lovely walk, I think the weather made it extra special.
