On 25th July nine members and one guest started the walk in the centre of South Cerney on an overcast morning. Fortunately the rain held off apart from one shower.

Starting down Ham Lane we threaded our way past lakes and fields to Ashton Keynes village where we stopped for coffee in the recreation grounds. Amazingly there were enough benches and chairs for everyone to sit ( suitably social distanced of course).

From Ashton Keynes we joined the Thames Path and made our way to Waterhay and then to one of the bird observation points on Cleveland Lakes where we had lunch. Sadly the birds were all in hiding.

We followed the Thames Path round the lakes until it crossed the old railway line between Cricklade and Cirencester which is now part of the National Bike path. We joined the path and followed it back to the centre of South Cerney to complete a 7.7 mile level walk with no stiles.
