Nine members and 1 guest started the five mile walk from Shipton Moyne on a hot, sunny evening. We took the path through the churchyard before heading into the Estcourt Estate.
Skirting the paddocks where beautiful looking horses grazed, we dropped down to and along the Tetbury River Avon. After pausing to draw breath in the heat, by the ford on the Fosse Way, we struck off across the fields towards Brokenborough.
Crossing the river below the village we followed a track through the barley fields, watching the sun setting and the crops being harvested.
Heading back, the group recrossed the Fosse Way and walked along Cranmore Lane, returning to the welcoming lights of the Cat and Custard Pot Pub at Shipton Moyne as twilight deepened.
