On Wednesday 6 Ramblers and 3 visitors set off in glorious sunshine from the picturesque village of Great Rissington passing the 12th Century John the Baptist church bearing right into a private road to reach the entrance to the Windrush Agricultural Estate.

 Crossing the first of several ploughed fields and the start of amazing views of the north Cotswolds, the next field we follow a path through a tall crop of sweetcorn which was muddy. Continuing on until Chessels Woods bordering the Windrush the other side of this beautiful soft flowing river are the Sherborne estate wetlands and water meadows.

 Leaving the wood we passed through a gate crossing a footbridge entering fields, after our refreshment stop we continued on until we reached a waymark post turning left.  We followed the track uphill with Mill Copse on our right. At the top following the track around to the left alongside a hedge then turning right until the next waymark where we turned left crossing fields including another tall crop of sweetcorn with a drier path until reaching a well defined track.

 Walking along the track for 1/2 mile we reached a farm entrance on the left. Following the white footpath sign crossing the field heading for the farm gate in the hedge.  We turned left with the church beyond and continued on the track around the end of houses to the metalled road leading to the entrance to the Windrush Agricultural Estate and the end of the walk.
