On Sunday 20th September 22 ramblers, including some from Oxford and North East Wiltshire groups, set off on a lovely sunny morning from Great Barrington for a 6.5 mile walk.
The group headed off through Little Barrington towards the pretty village of Windrush and after viewing the War Memorial took a short coffee break. (The memorial remembered those killed in Great War 1914-1918 (8), 1939 to 1945 (1) and also to the memory of Sgt Pilot Bruce Hancock R.A.F.V.R. who sacrificed his life by ramming and destroying an enemy Heinkel bomber while flying an unarmed training aircraft from Windrush landing ground during the battle of Britain 18th August 1940).
Leaving Windrush they headed towards Sherbourne and found a lovely spot for a Covid safe lunch before making their way back on the Sabrina Way to Great Barrington.
