Twenty Seven members set off from Stow public car park after Mike explained the Covid rules to us all.

After crossing the busy A429 the group headed towards Upper and Lower Swell and continued on roads and footpaths eventually reaching Donnington Brewery nestled beside the River Dikler.

Leaving Donnington they headed uphill to reach the monument at the site of the Battle of Stow fought in 1646. A coffee break was taken here before continuing on to the delightful village of Broadwell before returning to Stow, passing the Stow Wells which supplied the town’s water until 1937.
