Cirencester Ramblers

In pleasant summer weather, 14 members did a five mile walk in beautiful countryside, with extensive views.

Starting from The Village Hall, initially we walked away from Adlestrop towards Moreton Lake, and then left into Adlestrop Park on a wide field. Thus we entered Adlestrop on The Macmillan Way with the view of the cricket ground to our left and Adlestrop House ahead in the distance.

Leaving the field, we passed the parish church of St Mary Magdalene and left the village on quiet roads and a woodland path before reaching The Long Drive. After stopping for a drinks break we continued uphill, with breathtaking views of the countryside towards Stow on the left.

The route continued to Chastleton, and then returned downhill on The Macmillan Way, again with long distance views of the countryside
