Twenty four members and 2 guests set out from the Waterloo car park on a five-mile circular walk. The weather was overcast as they went through the Abbey Grounds to the Norman Gate. They crossed the busy road at the traffic lights, and headed up through the Hare Bushes on a muddy path.

The group emerged onto the Burford Road, and walked up past the garage, before they followed a path through Whiteland Woods. They left the  wood to join the lane adjacent to Shooters Hill.

After a coffee break the Ramblers continued north-west towards Exhibition Barn. The route was close to the very noisy road. The party transferred onto the Whiteway using a stile, and after crossing the bridge, turned right down the hill into Baunton (mentioned in the Domesday book as Baudintone). After visiting the church of St Mary Magdelene the group left the village, over the River Churn, towards the Cheltenham Road. They carefully crossed over into Baunton Lane and to reach Vaisey Road. From here they walked down through the estate to the Gloucester Road  and followed the road south and went back through the Abbey Grounds to the start.
