On Sunday 11th August starting from Sherborne village, 18 ramblers and 1 visitor from Australia enjoyed the delightful villages of Windrush, Little Barrington and Great Barrington as they walked the rolling countryside of the Cotswolds .They admired the fields of late summer crops, wildflowers, walked over the River Windrush, by mills, along ancient coffin routes, and old tracks.

They also walked parts of cycle route 57, the Darcy Dalton Way and Sabrina Way and learnt more about these routes. Various drink and picnic stops were taken, escaping the rain of threatening clouds There was an insight into the four types of oolitic limestone Cotswold Stone construction found all around them, also a delightfully rare sight and sounds of a circus Big Top.

The majority of the group enjoyed the 6/7 mile walk and refreshments after at the café or pub, a few continued a further 3 miles of walk extension around the Sherborne Park.
