Cirencester Ramblers

On Tuesday 16th July, Alfie, Froome and Cammy were joined by 16 members of Cirencester Ramblers for a 4½ mile dog friendly walk in the Cotswold Water Park.

From the Bakers Arms in Somerford Keynes we walked through the village to Mack’s Farm where we crossed the Spine Road into the water park. Some of the paths were quite overgrown and we had to sniff out alternative routes.

On reaching the lakes Froome couldn't resist taking a dip; but when we reached the coffee stop the lakes were too deep for paddling. On reaching the River Thames, Alfie & Froome enjoyed the chance to cool off (Cammy doesn't like getting wet). Fortunately there was a good supply of sticks to chase after in the river. We returned alongside the river until we reached Somerford Keynes entering the village near the church.

Us three dogs had a great time and I think the ramblers did as well, but without tails its difficult to tell. Most of the walkers enjoyed a pub lunch and we enjoyed some doggy treats.

PS. Normally only RA dogs are allowed on walks always check with the walk leader.

Some paths in the Water Park are overgrown, others are not!
