On Sunday 27th January 25 people (including 4 visitors) plus a lovely 1 year old baby boy, who was as good as gold in his seat on his mother’s back, did a 6 mile walk. (A little diversion was added to the advertised 5.3 miles).

When we left Chedworth air field about 10am. There was a cold biting wind, but we were all wrapped up against the cold. We made our way across the old air field over several stiles til we could bear left along a wide farm track down to a wood, then down through the wood opposite. It was steep and muddy but all managed okay and we eventually we took a right path that took us up a hill til we met a cross section of paths. Going straight over we passed through a gate down 30 or more steep steps to the meadow below. This led us to the church, where we had a coffee stop.

Then we walked down a narrow path to the front of the Seven Tuns pub, before turning right up the road to reach Chedworth village, with its lovely cottages and a view down to the stream below and the hillside opposite. Once reaching the end of village we walked up Pancake Hill, meandering left and right, still with views of the village opposite, until we could bear left onto the track of very nice large house with tennis courts.

Going through a large gate at the end we took a right turn up a lane to the top where we could turn left and along a good track all the way back to the air field, retracing our steps back to the cars.
