On a very warm, sunny day, 11 Ramblers, including a new member, set out from the car park in Burford, heading to Fullbrook. Then we crossed fields to Payne’s farm and Swinbrook. The fields were crisp and very dry, with cracked earth. We had a lunch stop at Asthall Church in front of Asthall Manor, home of the famous Mitford sisters. We returned through Widford following the river Windrush back to Burford, where we celebrated a 70th birthday with tea and cake at the Lamb Inn.
