11 members of the group set out from The Goods Shed, Tetbury, on a pleasant morning, for a 7 mile leisurely walk but with some challenging stiles. Heading out across fields on the Monarch’s Way we were able to look back to a lovely view of the Church spire, before passing down alleyways and roads at the back of Long Newnton. We then walked through meadowland full of flowers to Shipton Mill, where we stopped for a few minutes by the stream before heading through and around the beautifully manicured paddocks of the Estcourt Estate, almost reaching Shipton Moyne. After finding a convenient wall to perch on for lunch we headed down through the estate parkland, where the sheep were grazing with their young, using views of the Church to guide us. Returning, many of us stopped at the café by the car park for welcome refreshments.
