Cirencester Ramblers

After the recent warm weather we’ve had it was somewhat cooler for today’s walk. We had 15 walkers including a visitor from another group. An easy leisurely route along a section of the Thames path from Ashton Keynes to Waterhay around Cleveland lakes and skirting back alongside Waterhay Lake, which has been used as a set for Kenneth Brannagh’s Death on the Nile and George Clooney’s Boys in the Boat. A cuckoo accompanied us all the way round and there was an abundance of May blossom. Back at Fridays Ham Lane the group divided with one half heading back to the start while others enjoyed tea, coffee and delicious home made cakes at Jennie’s cafe.
