Cirencester Ramblers

On Sunday 28th April 6 members and 2 visitors from Texas joined us for a 6mile walk from Hillesley. Despite earlier rain, the weather was fine by the time we started to walk, and it turned out to be a lovely bright day. We walked through fields and wooded areas to Alderley, then joining  part of the Cotswold Way with a beautiful valley and hills where we came upon a wonderful herd of English Longhorn cattle. On arriving at Lower Kilcott we took a right onto the Monarch's Way climbing uphill to pause for our lunch stop with spectacular views. We then continued up the Long Coombe valley to the Hawkesbury-Hillesley road, turning right down a farm track to woodland and back down to Hillesley. Everyone enjoyed the walk including our two visitors.
