Nine members started off from Coate Water Country Park, near the Great Western Hospital Hospital in Swindon, on a lovely sunny day to do the 6 mile walk.  It was a walk of 2 halves as we only did half of what I had planned. The other half was changed as I took a wrong turning: everyone was quite happy about the changes and had the added bonus of seeing two swans on a nest with 3 cygnets. 

 The walk started by taking the left path round the large lake and over a bridge to eventually go up and over the spiral M4 motorway bridge.  We then took the track up to pass some beehives. Eventually we came up to the Holy Cross church in Chiseldon, where we had our lunch stop on three perfect seats. We had the pleasure of seeing many people arriving for a Christening, The little girls were dressed in such pretty dresses and everyone looking very smart.

 We departed from the church and came back in a different direction, but it enabled us to go back over the Spiral M4 motorway bridge and go left round the other side of the lake and through an avenue of lovely lime trees.

 When we came out back to the lake there was a Model Steam Boat event going on and remote control boats on the lake, then back to the start where could sit and enjoy and ice cream.
