After a week of cold & snow it was a relief to have a mild and dry although breezy day for our six mile walk from Burford.

 There were 13 of us including two new members as we made our way from Burford to the village of Fulbrook. This was by a busy road and it was a relief to reach our footpath over three fields. We continued through a short wood where we all kept quiet to enjoy the peace, solitude and our own thoughts.

 Shortly after we reached the first of our two refreshment stops where there was a seat and lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Continuing downhill and uphill and then along a large grass area with great views we arrived at our second refreshment stop at St. Oswald’s Church. It dates from the 11th Century, with wall paintings from the 14th Century.

 The final mile of our walk was along the scenic River Windrush before our return to Burford and a short walk through the outskirts of the town back to the car park. An enjoyable walk was had by all.
