Nineteen members and 2 guests walked 6 miles from Coln Rogers church C P on a beautiful hoar frost day. The trees, hedgerows and paths all looked stunning as it was -7 degrees at 9.45 am.

 The walk took them right from church access road (as everywhere lower down was flooded. Three places they had hoped to cross the river Coln  were not possible, so they went up onto high ground). It led to Coln St Dennis. The scenery of the flooded field and the fast flowing river was special in the white frost.

 From Coln St Dennis they took a left lane opposite the church, uphill to the top, where they turned right onto a Public Footpath/Bridle Way that took them all the way to Saltway Barn, with lovely views of the rolling countryside. A coffee stop was taken half way along.

 At the junction they turned right down the lane which would have taken them back to Coln St Dennis. But half way along they turned left onto a grassy track, which then led across a field of winter crops growing, through a hedge, then back to a grassy track leading down to Saltway Farm. A lunch stop was taken here.

 They then proceeded up the track past a barn called Dudley Pool to a lane, then downhill to the edge of Winson, where they could see the fast flowing river and the fields all very flooded. They  turned right to walk along the lane past the Village Hall and then over the bridge where the fields were so  flooded that swans had made it their home, before returning back to the church Car Park.
