On a damp and sunny morning 20 Ramblers set off for a 4-mile circular walk from Ampney Crucis Village Hall.
They made their way up the picturesque main street to arrive at Allotment lane, from here they walked up past the school playing fields to the top. The party then turned right onto a rough lane full of puddles, before joining a grassy path around the hamlet of Hilcot End.
Next, they followed the lanes to Ampney St Mary- where a drinks break was taken. The group then went across fields towards the old Red Lion pub, before following a path towards Ampney St Peter. From here they walked along the path adjacent to the A417 to reach Ivy Church.
After visiting the Norman church, they made their way across to School Lane, and then back through fields to the village hall for the AGM.
