Despite the dreadful weather overnight, nine Ramblers set off from the Waterloo Car Park to walk the nine miles of Walk Three of Cirencester Ramblers new walk leaflets.

 We walked through town on the route of the Ermin Way and on to Stratton. Next we followed the route of a stream across fields to Daglingworth, up hill to Itlay, then under the A419 onto the Welsh Way.

 Turning right down a track we entered some woodland and onto Bagendon where we stopped for lunch at the church.

 Walking up hill we reached the Welsh Way again, before going through the monkey gates at the start and end of Forty Acre Copse. Next was a short noisy stretch above, then under, the A419.

 Finally we joined the Monarch’s Way just before the village of Baunton for a steady walk down hill to Cirencester, where we were greeted by the bells of the church ringing out for the Ascension to the throne of Elizabeth 2nd, seventy years ago.
