The walk attracted a good number of ramblers keen to return to group activity within the current regulations.
Leaving the start point at Brimpsfield Village Hall the route took us through the delightful valley up to Syde village. Most of the group elected to climb the slope up to Syde church where we arrived shortly after the end of an outdoor service. The St Mary's 12th century church is set in the heart of one of the oldest and smallest parishes in England.
After a break for coffee we followed the route through Caudle Green before descending into Climperwell Wood and a lunchtime stop close to a stream.
The final section took us out of the woods and past Longdole polo club before arriving back into Brimpsfield.
