Twenty five walkers including 4 guests left South Cerney on a lane called Bow Wow ,which has the River Churn on one side and the mill leat on the other. Walking about half a mile along the lane we reached the canal towpath which we turned onto going towards Siddington. The path was very muddy and on reaching a road we walked along this to gain the next part of the path instead of going through the meadow which was waterlogged.

Once back back on the towpath we continued to Plummers Farm Siddington, where the landowner had kindly allowed us to take a short cut along the farm road and onto the disused railway. A refreshment stop was taken here on what was formally the Midland and South Western Junction Railway. It is now a Permissive Path.

We continued along this track in a short burst of rain back towards South Cerney. On reaching a kissing gate to the right we continued up a bank and through the fields to the end of School Lane in South Cerney. Walking back beside the River Churn we came out opposite the start at Bow Wow.
