21 ramblers set off for a 5-mile circular walk on a pleasant dry cold morning. They left Ampney Crucis Village Hall and walked up the street full of Cotswold-stone Cottages to Dudley Corner.

The group then followed the lane down towards Ampney St Mary, where they turned off through the horse paddocks to Ampney St Peter. After admiring the Gold painted post-box and the Old Pack Horse Inn, they crossed the A417.

The walkers headed south up Charlham Lane to the farm house. From here they turned West onto a wet track which took them over the swollen Ampney Brook to Driffield. They entered the village near the duck pond, and then made their way back through Harnhill to the start of the walk and the group AGM at the Village Hall, starting with a bring and share lunch

We found several examples of bracket fungus on a tree by the footpath

Due to the well publised recent rain we saw watery paths, but our leader, with his local knowledge, found us a different route
