On a warm sunny morning 44 members and guests set off from Durlston Country Park on the Upper Path across The Wares. After a mile, 31 of us split off on the 6½ mile walk through California Quarry to the Priest's Way where we had magnificent views across the valley and Swanage. We continued along the Priest's Way until we reached Spyway Barn, an old smugglers haunt, where we stopped for a coffee break.
After this we headed towards the coast descending the steep slope from Spyway Hill to Dancing Ledge where we joined the South West Coast Path. We followed the SWCP dodging marathon runners as we passed the lighthouse and Tilly Whim Caves to finish at the Globe.
