Starting from Gloucester Road carpark 14 intrepid ramblers set of in the rain to walk 6.5 miles. Walking through the historic market town of Faringdon, meaning a fern covered hill,we made our way east up to Folly Hill where stands Folly Tower. The folly was built in 1935 by Lord Gerald Wellesley for Lord Berners and stands 140feet(43m) high.

After enjoying the panoramic views we walked down the hill, left through the wood at the bottom, and then in a large circle keeping the folly in view back to Faringdon. It was very heavy going in places because of the recent rain. We also had some sunshine and a wintery storm. However, the walk was enjoyed by all.
