On a pleasant dry winters morning eighteen members did an interesting four and a quarter mile walk from Bourton on the Water to Lower Slaughter.

Once we had gone along a few alleyways to leave the town, at Salmonsbury we passed through the Greystones Nature Reserve, walking along the Time Trial and passing the Meeting Stone.

After a walk along Station Rd and crossing the A429 we walked a short distance along The Heart of England Way to the picturesque Lower Slaughter, taking a drinks break by the river and then a short walk around the village.

Upto this point the walk had been entirely flat, the return route of a footpath, a quite country lane and then the Monarchs Way, included an incline, and then the only stile on the walk. We finished by crossing the A429 to a playing field and back to our start point.
